What To Expect
OVCC Audition Overview
One Voice Children’s Choir serves as the flagship ambassador program of One Voice Children (501c3), a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the world through the power of children’s voices. Thanks to generous sponsors, donors, foundations, and grants, the program significantly subsidizes participation so more families can take part.
In addition to receiving high-level musical training and education, singers and their guardians actively support the organization’s mission in meaningful and impactful ways.
One Voice Children’s Choir holds auditions each spring through a three rounds process. Singers must be 7 years old by September 1, 2026 (2nd grade age) and may be up to 16 years old (10th grade/high school sophomore age).
If selected, choir members attend 1.5–2 hour in-person rehearsals each week and complete at-home practice, repertoire preparation, and scheduled performances. Rehearsals take place in Bluffdale, Utah, and families must live within driving distance of the studio.
The main rehearsal and performance season runs from late August through early June. In addition, members commit to an annual membership fee starting at $120/month, payable monthly or in full. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify.
“I’ve been in One Voice for 10 years, and it helped me believe in myself and sing better. I got to take voice lessons and have one-on-one time to hone my singing and performance.” – Ryan One Voice Member
Auditions are competitive due to strong interest. The choir comprises approximately 180 singers, with an average annual turnover of 13%. Casting for the 2026–2027 season will be more limited than usual because of a smaller graduating class.
The One Voice Creative Team looks for passionate singers from all backgrounds who demonstrate strong musicianship, emotional expression, and age-appropriate discipline. Younger singers should show focus and readiness in a group setting, while older singers are expected to meet higher standards in musicianship, leadership, professionalism, and discipline.
Welcome to a space built for meaningful experiences. Here, we don’t just design websites—we create purposeful digital journeys. Every detail is intentional, every pixel thoughtfully crafted, and every story designed to connect, engage, and leave a lasting impression.
Throughout each audition round, the casting team evaluates tonality, rhythm, dynamics, diction, style, performance, emotional connection, and a singer’s ability to focus and follow direction.
Parents and guardians play an important role in their child’s experience, so family interactions with staff and directors are considered during the casting process. Most singers accepted into One Voice Children’s Choir have multiple years of prior music experience, including private lessons, choir participation, theater productions, workshops, camps, or intensives.
It is common for singers to audition multiple times before being cast. Families are encouraged to take advantage of One Voice Children classes, workshops, and camps offered throughout the year. In fact, many singers accepted into One Voice Children’s Choir begin their journey in One Voice Junior Choir.
